Day 4 – Travel via spectacular scenery of the Western
MacDonnell’s for a walk in Gosse Bluff meteorite crater.
We visit Albert Namatjira’s house near Hermannsburg, and
taste his early life. Visit
the famous Lutheran Hermannsburg Mission and art school were Namatjira
first learnt to paint – more art treats
here and learn of the fascinating history of Hermannsburg and the early
Aboriginal art school. Afternoon we take the 4WD Mereenie Loop track for Kings Canyon area
through this spectacular Central Deserts landscape via the Gardiner
Range, the Camels Hump and Katapata Pass. Overnight Kings Canyon
Resort
Day 5 – Experience the mighty
Kings Canyon with a 3 hour walk, we visit the “Garden of
Eden”, and the spectacular north and south walls. Alternatively
choose the easier
40
minute valley
walk. Overnight Kings Canyon. Out afternoon is a drive through
the sand hills and desert oaks landscapes – we view Mt Connor near
Curtin Springs and arrive at Uluru for sunset and overnight.
Day 6 – Sunrise at Uluru –
then free time for Uluru walks and
wilderness. Tour ends after breakfast or extend for additional activities at Uluru
or Kata Tjuta.
