How to Develop Intuition

How to Develop Your Intuition

How to Develop Intuition
Richard O’Neill – Senior Coach

Intuition is a powerful tool that we all possess, but many of us struggle to tap into its full potential. This article outlines some techniques that shows How to Develop Intuition and can help you develop your intuition and explain the importance of grounding in the process.

When you develop your intuition it can be a great way to make better decisions and navigate the complexities of life.

What is Intuition

Intuition is the ability to understand or know something instinctively, without the need for conscious reasoning. It is a form of non-conscious processing that can help us make quick decisions based on our past experiences, emotions, and instincts. Intuition is often described as a gut feeling or a sixth sense, and it can be a powerful tool for making decisions in situations where there is limited information or time to consider all the options. Intuition is not the same as psychic abilities or supernatural powers, but rather a natural and innate human ability that we can all develop and hone with practice. It is important to note that intuition should not be relied upon exclusively and that critical thinking and analysis are also necessary for making well-informed decisions.

Here’s How to Develop Your Intuition

One of the most important things you can do to develop your intuition is to listen to it. Often, we ignore our intuition because we are too caught up in our thoughts or emotions. By taking time to quiet your mind and pay attention to your intuition, you can start to strengthen it. You might try meditating or spending time in nature to help you get in touch with your intuition.

Another way to develop your intuition is to pay attention to your physical sensations. Our bodies can give us important clues about what our intuition is trying to tell us. For example, you might feel a tightness in your chest or a sense of unease in your stomach when something isn’t right. By learning to listen to these physical sensations, you can start to trust your intuition more.

Visualization can also be a powerful tool for developing your intuition. You might try imagining yourself in different situations and paying attention to how your intuition responds. This can help you get a better sense of how your intuition works and what it feels like when it’s guiding you.

Finally, grounding is an essential component of developing your intuition. Grounding refers to the practice of connecting with the earth and your physical body. This can help you feel more centred and present, which can make it easier to access your intuition. You might try walking barefoot in nature, practicing yoga, or doing other activities that help you feel connected to your body and the earth.

Your intuition is a powerful way to make better decisions and navigate the complexities of life. By listening to your intuition, paying attention to physical sensations, using visualization, and grounding yourself, you can start to tap into the wisdom that lies within you. With practice, you can learn to trust your intuition and use it to create a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Summarising the key points to develop your intuition:

  • Listening to your intuition is essential for developing it.
  • Clear You mind, and clear your space of clutter and distractions – see our Integrity Checklist
  • You can quiet your mind and get in touch with your intuition by meditating or spending time in nature.
  • Paying attention to physical sensations, such as tightness in your chest or unease in your stomach, can help you recognize when your intuition is trying to guide you.
  • Visualization can be a helpful tool for exploring your intuition and getting a better sense of how it works.
  • Grounding is an essential component of developing your intuition.
  • Grounding practices can include walking barefoot in nature, practicing yoga, or other activities that connect you with your body and the earth.
  • By developing your intuition, you can make better decisions and navigate life’s challenges more effectively.
  • With practice, you can learn to trust your intuition and use it to create a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Kimberley Rock Art Public Lecture 2024

Rock Art Australia and the Art Gallery of New South Wales
invite you to join us for our 2024 lecture series:

‘Two Ways to See’, A Rock Art Research Journey

Presented by Ian Waina and Professor Andy Gleadow AO FAA

Rock art is a significant archive of our rich cultural heritage and helps us understand our Australian history.

Please join Ian Waina and Prof. Andy Gleadow as they share how traditional owners and scientists have worked together over the last decade to determine the age of rock art sites on Kwini and Balanggarra Country in the East Kimberley.

“When I was still at school, I started taking people to visit the rock art sites. The big question the tourists would ask was how old is the rock art? To tell the truth I didn’t know. I would answer them with ‘Its older than me and you’. I really wanted to find the answer to that question.” – Ian Waina.

“We knew from the outset that dating rock was a very hard thing to do because it is mostly not possible to date the pigments and other materials used to make the paintings. Instead, we needed to develop new methods and modify existing ones to find out the age of natural events that happened on the rock surface.” – Prof. Andy Gleadow.

This Kimberley Rock Art Public Lecture will share personal stories and research findings which reveal the age of Australia’s oldest known painting in a rock shelter.

Latest Channel Country and Lake Eyre Tours and Flights

Three cyclones were active over Australia a few weeks ago and this was after a fourth cyclone that occurred earlier this summer. These have had a big impact so here is the News an the Latest Channel Country and Lake Eyre Tours and Flights.

This has brought huge amounts of rain to the Lake Eyre catchment and still there are flood waters moving down and some roads are still closed. Borroloola in the Gulf country probably got hit the hardest with the Macarthur River peaking at 18 meters whereas 16 meters was the previous record.

See the Latest Channel Country and Lake Eyre Tours and Flights available here

The Macarthur River gold mine helped out with reconnecting telephones and other logistics support in the community. The worst affected area was probably at King Ash Bay which is low level and right on the river bank with a number of insubstantial dwellings. A lovely spot to visit  in the right conditions.

Lake Eyre is currently receiving water flowing down from Diamantina River and the Goyder Lagoon and into the lake via the Warburton Groove. You can see some photos of this thanks to Arid Air and Wrights Air – below …

The bird life is enjoying it as well as the fish that usually dwell in the dry river beds are being washed out and washed down the river into Lake Eyre

Lake Eyre Tours in 2024

Lake Eyre Tours in 2024Embarking on Lake Eyre Tours in 2024 with Spirit Safari in the heart of Australia is a journey unlike any other, especially in the wake of cyclone Kirrily creating huge 2024 floods. Tours are available as 3, 4, 6, 8 or 10 days.

This rare phenomenon has transformed the desert landscape into an oasis, creating a spectacle that captures the essence of nature’s unpredictable beauty.

Our Lake Eyre tours in 2024, during this extraordinary time, offer a unique opportunity to witness the transformation of the largest inland lake in Australia into a temporary haven for wildlife, a mirror to the sky, and a canvas of natural art.

< Photo Shows Flood waters are now passing by Birdsville in Western Queensland that will fill Goyder Lagoon.

Water will to leave Goyder Lagoon down the Warburton River and enter Lake Eyre via the Warburton Groove. The fish, birds, and vegetation follow this flow of water and Lake Eyre will be filling from late March through April, May,  June, and maybe more depending on absorption rates of the land and evaporation rates during these months.

Book NOW to see and this amazing spectacle – see dates and options on calendar below VV

Your Journey Begins with Lake Eyre Tours in 2024

Our adventure starts in Adelaide (or some tours from Broken Hill), where we set off on a journey that promises not only to explore the physical landscapes but also to traverse through the rich tapestry of Australian history, culture, and the indomitable spirit of the Outback. The road to Lake Eyre is an experience in itself, winding through quaint towns, vast open plains, and rugged natural terrain, offering glimpses of the diverse ecosystems that call South Australia home.

The Transformation of Lake Eyre

Upon seeing Lake Eyre, the impact of the 2024 floods will be immediately apparent. The lake, often a vast expanse of shimmering salt crystals, becomes a vibrant body of water, attracting life in forms and numbers that are truly a spectacle. The floods create an ecosystem that supports a plethora of birdlife, including pelicans, silver gulls, and the Banded Stilt, which thrives in these saline conditions. The sight of these birds, against the backdrop of the lake’s vast waters, is a photographer’s dream and a nature lover’s paradise.

Experiencing the Magic

Spirit Safaris’ Lake Eyre tours in 2024 are designed to offer an immersive experience, allowing travelers to not only see the lake from the edge but to truly engage with this temporary marvel. Options include scenic flights that provide a bird’s eye view of the lake’s expansive waters, reflecting the sky and creating a surreal landscape where the horizon blurs the line between water and air.

On the ground, we explore the fascinating history of the Oodnadatta Track, and at various locations enjoy guided walks for bird spotting, incluing along the shores of Lake Eyre south to reveal the intricate patterns of salt crystals, the textures of the mudflats, and the stories they hold. Night time brings a whole new dimension to the experience, with the clear Outback skies offering some of the best stargazing opportunities in the world. The silence of the desert, combined with the vastness of the night sky, makes for an unforgettable experience.

Cultural Insights and Historical Context

Our tours also delve into the rich cultural tapestry of the Lake Eyre region, exploring the significance of this place to the indigenous Arabana people, who have called this land home for thousands of years. Their stories and traditions offer a profound perspective on the lake and its place in the Australian landscape.

Historically, Lake Eyre has been a site of fascination and mystery, with early explorers drawn to its vastness and the elusive promise of water in the desert. The 2024 floods are a reminder of the lake’s capacity for transformation, a phenomenon that has occurred only a handful of times over the past century, making this year’s tours a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Sustainable Travel and Conservation

As a responsible travel operator, Spirit Safaris is deeply committed to the conservation of Lake Eyre and its surrounds. Our tours are designed to minimize impact, ensuring that we leave no trace and that the beauty of the lake and its temporary ecosystem can be preserved for future generations to witness.

Overnight Fitzroy River Lodge BL

Day 7 – After breakfast, we then follow the boabs and the Devonian Reef / Napier Range to Tunnel Creek, well hidden in the fascinating geology of this limestone reef with its many boab trees and picturesque complex shapes. This is where the Aboriginal freedom fighter Jandamarra and the Bunuba Resistance was centred in the 1890s, depicted in 2 novels and recent stage production. Here we can don torches and shorts to wade through this incredible underground river system full of stalagmites and stalactites and even an under ground spring. Alternatively, take a short walk in the shady and refreshing surrounding area by the creek that feeds the underground water system.

Travelling on by the Napier Range we arrive for lunch and a short walk in Windjana Gorge National Park with abundant wildlife and numerous freshwater crocodiles in this eerie, ancient seabed environment – where the mega fauna roamed. There are plenty of fresh water crocodiles here and abundant bird and lush plant life.Leaving Windjana Gorge we travel the Gibb River Road to the Mowanjum Aboriginal Art Centre and Derby township, and view King Sound where Australia’s biggest tides of 10m or 30 ft occur. We visit the culturally significant Prison Boab Tree. We arrive Broome and time permitting enjoy Cable Beach in time for the spectacular sunset over the Indian Ocean. Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant before overnight in Broome. BL Tour completes this evening at approximately 6 pm. Accommodation own arrangements or we can arrange accommodation for you.
