Darwin to Lost City, Tennant Creek, Devils Marbles, Alice Springs – 4 day Tour details
Day 1 – Depart from Darwin travel via Adelaide River (meet Charlie the water buffalo downded by Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee) We arrive Katherine – the NTs 3rd largest town, hot springs for lunch and a swim. On to Mataranka Hot Springs and connect with the famous classic outback Australian story of “We of the Never Never” and Elsey’s homestead from the film. Enjoy a walk in the hot springs before arrival at Daly Waters, and check out the amusing Daly waters Pub and township adornments (including the old helicopter, and the thong tree) and visit the WWII airfield & museum. Enjoy the world famous Daly Waters pub show.
Day 2 – We leave the Stuart Highway and head east for Cape Crawford, for our comfortable overnight stop. Optional Helicopteer ride here then Walk in the eerie Lost City of Carinbiniri Conservation Area and see these mysterious towers up close. The Lost City is in one of the oldest and most isolated area in Australia. It is twice as old as Uluru at around 1.4 billion years old. Overnight Cape Crawford.
Day 3 – Travel the rich cattle country of Barkly Tablends. Check out Barkly Homestead and the old Tennant Creek gold mine Overnigh Tennant Creek
Day 4 – Travel to the Devils Marbles. The Marbles are a highlight of this section, so we spend some time here amongst these amazing giant boulders. Aboriginal legend refers to these balanced boulders as the “Eggs of the Rainbow Serpent”. Some great photo opportunities here. Travel on via Wycliffe Wells (UFO hotspot) Barrow Creek (old Telegraph Station) the Stuart Memorial, Mt Stirling views (NT tallest mountain) and Ti-Tree are significant landmarks before we roll into Alice Springs in the afternoon – having travelled half way across Australia. On our way, we visit the Aboriginal Art Galleryat Aileron with impressive artwork, and it’s giant Aboriginal statues. Overnight Alice Springs (on expense).

We arrive Katherine – the NTs 3rd largest town, and in the afternoon can take a river cruise in spectacular Katherine Gorge, in Nitmiluk National Park. Options also for helicopter ride here too ! Day 2 – Visit Mataranka Hot Springs and connect with the famous classic outback Australian story of “We of the Never Never” and Elsey’s homestead from the film.
