Covid-19 clear update for small group tours was released this week and means Spirit Safaris can now help you escape lockdown and take a holiday in NSW and other states as borders open.
COVID CLEAN BUSINESS COVID-19 CLEAR UPDATE FOR SMALL GROUP TOURS 1 JUNE 2020
Following extensive discussions and correspondence with Transport NSW, the restrictions on public gatherings of more than two people do not apply to Spirit Safaris as providers of passenger services in NSW.

Now this means we can operate with more than two people in the vehicle at one time.

This is IDEAL for PRIVATE GROUPS OR SMALL GROUPS OR FAMILY GROUPS OR COUPLES –  SEE TOURS BELOW ..

Our very comfortable GXL Toyota Landcruisers carry 2 – 4 adults or up to 7 for family groups. Our off-road ready minibus is ideal for groups up to 11, and we can convoy vehicles for larger groups

The guidelines suggest social distancing should be practised where possible, including advising passengers to sit in the back seat only and using only contactless payment methods.

We have COVID clean practices in place and look forward to discussing and welcoming you on board some of our amazing Outback NSW tours

Background info –

We are given these guidelines –

“We can run a full tour bus, but until there is a vaccine for the virus, we have to be extra vigilant with cleaning and keeping records of pasesengers. The virus is considered to be in a  “social bubble”. This concept is more about contact tracing than social distancing. #1 priority is to keep records about who is on each tour so that in the case of an outbreak, everyone who has come into contact with an infected person can be contacted and isolated for 14 days.

During the tour, the tour group as a whole are considered a social bubble. The people within that social bubble can be as close to each other as they like, but they need to distance themselves from people who are not in the bubble. Eg. they must stay at least 1.5 meters from anyone on another tour. Your guides are going to have to give a very clear briefing on this and keep reiterating it when the group are entering a situation where they might be around another tour group. Encourage clients to avoid touching surfaces that are shared with people outside of the group when safe or practical, and encourage them to use hand sanitizer when boarding the bus or rejoining the group.”

Private and Small Group Outback NSW Tours

Private and Small Group Outback NSW Tours for 2-4 adults or families from 2-7 people per 4WD vehicle are now available from Sydney to Broken Hill, Corner Country, Mungo, Bourke and beyond, starting in June.

A range of tours from 4-14 days are offered by long term outback tour operator Spirit Safaris.

The company has 27 years experience with small and private group tours in remote areas and outback New South Wales.

With Covid-19 limitations, these private and small group tours are the best way to enjoy travel, have fun and keep your friends and family safe.

Private and Small Group Outback NSW Tours Mungo National Park

“These private and small group tours are a great way to escape Covid-19 lockdown and enjoy remote and outback wilderness areas, explore amazing parts of NSW, and support local communities while minimising Covid-19 risks” says Richard O’Neill, owner of Spirit Safaris. “Normally we operate in all states of Australia, so comply with the best safe work practices in the industry.”

People can travel as a couple or bring one or two of their friends and know that they are avoiding the crowds in buses or larger groups. As a small or private group, stops can be at the customers’ convenience or their places of special interest.

Tours explore NSW Corner Country, Mungo and Gundabooka National Park with unique Aboriginal Rock Art, Bourke, Darling River, Macquarie Marshes, Broken Hill and amazing icons on the way from Sydney and return over 12 days.

Broken Hill, which once had its own stock exchange, is a tour highlight. Guests visit the original BHP mine site, the Line of Lode memorial, Pro Harts Gallery, the Living Outback Sculptures and marvel at the history and size of the birthplace of the “Big Australian”, BHP. Shorter tours are also available that meet the train service to Sydney, and tour to Camerons Corner, Innamincka, Lake Eyre, Flinders Ranges and Coongie Lakes.

The Silo Art Trail is part of the 12 day tour, and is a new phenomenon of massive and beautiful artworks on outback grain silos in remote country towns. The artworks are a photographers delight, with such uniquely Australian images.

Supporting regional communities with visitors and bringing much needed income to country towns affected by drought and or bushfires, is also a primary intention of these remote regional tours.

These very personal small group tours are connecting people to each other and unique nature and the extraordinary beauty and history in our own backyard.

“Our GXL Toyota Landcruisers have a proven safety record and are very comfortable, as expressed by many passengers over the years,” says Mr O’Neill, a fifth-generation Australian with strong family connections to the land.

The 12 day tour includes visiting such sites as the Siding Springs Observatory in the Warrumbungle Ranges near Coonabarabran, Mungo National Park, Broken Hill, and the Darling River Run, Burke and Wills camp on the banks of Menindee Lakes. People can take a cruise on the Jandra paddleboat from Bourke and revisit the ancient Aboriginal fish traps in Brewarrina that are more than 40,000 years old.

Silverton and the movie sets where Mad Max and other Aussie icons were made, is on the list, and guests dine at Mario’s Palace Hotel, still with its incredible artworks as revealed in the movie Pricilla Queen of the Desert fame.

Camerons Corner, the Dingo Fence and Tippaburra are included to really take in the best of Outback NSW

These Private and Small Group Outback NSW Tours commence from June 10, 2020 through to November and then into 2021.

“This time of year we are usually operating tours in the Kimberley and remote areas such as the Canning Stock Route, Simpson Desert and from Broken Hill and South Australia including Lake Eyre, Arkaroola and the Flinders Ranges. The Covid-19 situation has caused us to consolidate, so travellers can now have an exciting adventure closer to home in New South Wales, reaching some of these unique places in these very capable and comfortable off-road vehicles.

Guests waiting in airport queues to catch a flight is also not needed, as tours depart Sydney or Broken Hill, and can often pick up guests enroute.

A wide range of tours and departure dates are available at the website – https://www.spiritsafaris.com/nsw_tours
