Day 1 – Depart Alice Springs for Tanami Track at 1pm (we meet 1pm flight from Sydney or other ports). A three hour journey heads you toward some of the remotest country in Australia. Enjoy the rich collection of Aboriginal art available here at Tillmouth Wells – including from Mt Allan, Papunya, Yuendumu. Overnight Tillmouth Wells camp roadhouse & campground.
Day 2 – Visit the world famous Warlukurlangu artists at Yuendumu, and the Papunya Tula artists at Papunya. Meet the artists at work. You can buy their art directly from source. After a good connection with the locals, we “up the track” through this extraordinary and remote country – by the great Tanami and Granites gold mines, and old abandoned wells from gold rush & cattle droving days via Rabbit Flat Roadhouse, then to our remote overnight stop.
Day 3 – Arrive at Balgo Art Centre in the remote Balgo Community near Lake Gregory and meet the Warlayirti artists at work.
